Questions buyers ask
304 or 316 stainless for a food plant?
304 (A2) is the workhorse in brewing and dairy. 316 (A4) adds about 2% molybdenum and resists chlorides far better, so use A4 fasteners where brine, salt or chloride cleaners are present.
Why do bolt heads matter for hygiene?
Crevices under bolt heads trap soil and cleaning agents, and chlorides attack stainless quickly inside them. Domed fasteners with a sealing gasket remove the crevice; EHEDG hygienic design guidance covers the details.
Mechanical belt fasteners or vulcanising?
Mechanical fasteners can be fitted by the plant's own crew with common tools. Vulcanising usually needs specialist equipment and an outside crew, and can take 24 hours or more once scheduling is counted.
Do you supply food-grade grease?
Yes, a food-grade bearing grease for plants where lubricant may touch food, with grease nipples and guns to apply it.
